Give Thanks:
We hosted spring teams from Covenant College and RUF @ Kentucky, Pittsburgh, Mississippi State, University of Mississippi, UCLA, UC Santa Barbara, Cal Berkeley, and University of Washington. It was exhausting and a smashing success. We haven’t had teams in 2 years 7 months and there was some reacclimating, but it went really well. We reconnected with lots of kids we haven’t regularly seen in a while. We also had a number of teenagers coming back to Sunday Church and Youth Group. The best part of Kids Club was every day we had 7-13 teenagers from White Swan helping with Kids Club. It is a great blessing to see them leading and serving the little kids, especially because most of them grew up coming to Kids Club.
Trusting God:
We are prepping for summer teams, summer Young Life Camps, General Assembly, and a summer Conference for our Young Adults. We are a bit nervous about the summer because we don’t have any summer interns. I have some fear because in 2019, we had about 16 interns and we are a bit scared of how much work we have to do. But at the same time, it will be a relief to not have to dedicate time and mental energy to managing the interns and providing for them (which mostly falls on the Granberrys, but we all shoulder to an extent). We are feeling hopeful though because we have 3 young adults from White Swan who are working full time for us and 3 who are working part time, as well as 2-3 more potential ones for the summer (and all could be working full time with us over the summer).
Prayer Request:
Sacred Road is gearing up for the summer teams and ministry. It’s always a lot of work, but a huge opportunity to connect with the community and share Jesus. This summer, we are getting our Native young adults to take more leadership with teams and are very excited about that.
