Intern: Summer 2017 and Summer 2018.
Where were you in your process of ministry development?
In seminary, but we met and connected with Mike and Sandy and others in the Network prior to moving to seminary
The NWCPN/Pacific Rim Network has been a significant aspect of our ministry and personal growth. Over the past 4 years, the Network has supported us through prayer, mentorship, and providing real ministry opportunities to encourage and help us in preparation for faithful gospel ministry. Personally, my first summer internship through the Network solidified my internal call toward pastoral ministry. The Network’s relational approach to leadership development has been impactful to both my wife and I, as we know the Network is in our corner through the ups and downs of life, seminary, and ministry. We look forward to further partnership into the future!
Any highlights from your experience?
- Enriching seminars with local church pastors and church planters.
- Fellowship with other Interns/Residents/Pastors and exciting conversations about what God is doing in the PNW.
- Regular check-ins and availability to meet with Mike, Sandy, and others for prayer and support.
- Real (and sometimes hard to hear) feedback, as I know the Lord has used these conversations to cultivate growth in Christ and as a minister of the gospel. On the flip side, we have received incredibly powerful encouragement from the Network!
What are you doing now?
About to graduate from Covenant Seminary in St. Louis and moving back to serve as an Assistant Pastor and Church Plant Resident in PNW (at Covenant Presbyterian in Issaquah, WA)! We look forward to this opportunity to continue to be formed in ministry and to, Lord-willing, launch out and plant a church that proclaims the good news of Jesus and loves its neighbors well. We also would love to support more church plants in the PNW into the future.
